~How to install PSP Tube and watch Youtube videos directly off PSP with wifi connection~

Custom search my site and other psp affiliated sites to find what you're looking for.

NOTE: This is a tutorial to install PSP Tube and watch Youtube videos on your PSP by going online on your PSP with wifi connection. This program uses firmwares 1.00, 1.50, or a 3.XX custom firmware. This only works with non-wpa key internet connections, with some exceptions. This tutorial is based on your kernel set at 3.XX if you have a 3.XX custom firmware.

Things you need:

  1. PSP Tube file: http://rapidshare.com/files/64022895/14262_PSPTube20070805.zip.html
  2. PSP with firmware 1.00, 1.50 or custom firmware 3.XX.
  3. A Youtube account and a Youtube developers account.

Step 1:

Make sure your PSP is one of the listing firmwares. Download the above PSP Tube file. Make a Youtube account here: http://www.youtube.com/. Once you have a Youtube account, you need to make a Youtube Developers account here: http://www.youtube.com/dev. To register, you will need to input a few answers to simple questions, just put whatever. Then afterwards, you will receive a Developer ID you will need later.

Step 2:

Depending on your firmware, you will need to move the ‘100’, ‘150’, or the ‘200over’ file over to the corresponding folder. [Ex: the ‘200 and over’ folder would be used for a user with a custom firmware 2.XX+ such as 3.40 OE or 3.52 M33 or 3.03 OE. And it would be moved to the ‘Game’ folder in the ‘PSP folder’ on the base of your memory stick]. Now you will need to use the Developer ID you have acquired. From the PSP Tube folder on your PSP, click on the ‘100’, ’200over’ or ‘150’ folder(which ever you chose to copy over), and locate the ‘psptube.cfg’ file and open it with Notepad.

Look at my picture, scroll all the way down in the file like so. And notice where it says

[dev_id = "ABCDEFGHIJK"

dev_id = ""]

You need to imput your Developer ID in between the quotation marks where I show in the picture labeling “here”. Now after you do that, save the file and exit out of it.

Step 3:

Now exit out of USB mode and head over to the ‘Game’ tab and then to ‘Memory Stick’ click on that and then you will see the PSP Tube icon, so click on that. It will ask you which network connection you want to use, then press ‘O’ not ‘X’, because ‘X’ will exit out of it. That’s it, hope you like it and enjoy :D.

Troubleshooting:

If you have any problems just ask, I’ll do my best to help you. If the above link is dead, just ask, and I will re-upload it for you. Perhaps you might not be able to create a Developer’s ID, if not then use this one: ‘k0S_9z-k3kU’.

~How to Install Daedalus 12 on your PSP and play Nintendo 64 games on your PSP~

Custom search my site and other psp affiliated sites to find what you're looking for.

NOTE: This is a tutorial to play N64 games on your PSP. This program requires custom firmware to use.

Daedalus is simply a a N64 emulator, which has been noted to be the best N64 emulator for the PSP so far. Not all games work on it, but a lot are playable, and even a few run about the same.

Files You Will Need:

  1. Daedalus 12: http://rapidshare.com/files/63934569/Daedalus_Folders.rar.html

Step 1:

Download the above file and connect your PSP to your computer via USB.

Step 2:

Open the folder ‘Daedalus Folders’ and you will see 2 folders: ‘Daedalus’ and ‘Daedalus%’. Look on your computer for your PSP (removable drive) and go to the base of your memory stick (will have the PSP, Video, Music, Picture files). Click on the ‘PSP’ folder and then the ‘GAME150’. Paste the two files you saw earlier, the ‘Daedalus’ and the ‘Daedalus%’ folders into the ‘GAME150’ folder. Now you finished installation.

Step 3:

Now you need to get a ROM file of the Nintendo 64 game you want to play, and put it in the ‘Daedalus’ folder in the ‘Roms’ folder. Now exit out of USB mode, then go over to the ‘Gane’ tab on the main menu of your PSP. It is called the XMB (the main psp menu). Then go to the ‘Memory Stick’ option and click on it. Daedalus will pop up and you can select your game to play. There ya go, you should now be able to play N64 games on your PSP.

Troubleshooting:

You can speed up your N64 games by selecting the Frameskip option to "2". To do this, just go to edit preferences and choose that option.

*How to make backup ISO files of YOUR PSP games and compress it to a CSO file format*

Custom search my site and other psp affiliated sites to find what you're looking for.

NOTE: This tutorial is meant for the purpose of making backup files of your psp games incase if something happens to them, or to make a file to put on your psp to play the game, to rid the need of carrying all the discs of your games. It is not meant for illegal purposes of distributing the files to others. This program requires the use of firmware 1.5.

Files You Will Need:

  1. USBSSS_100(the ripper): http://rapidshare.com/files/63815646/USBSSS_100.rar.html
  2. UMDGEN v4(the compressor): http://rapidshare.com/files/63815922/UMDGen_v4.rar.html

Step 1:

First, download the 2 links above and open up the ‘USBSSS_100’ folder.

Step 2:

Once you open ‘USBSSS_100’ go from MS_Root/PSP/Game, and you will see the two files you need. Copy and paste the ‘%__SCE__USBSSS’ and the ‘__SCE__USBSSS’ folders onto the PSP’s ‘GAME150’ folder under MS/PSP/GAME150. Then exit out of USB mode, but keep your usb cord plugged into the psp and computer.

Step 3:

Stick which ever PSP game you want to create a backup iso file from into your PSP. Then go to the Game icon in the xmb menu (the main psp menu which includes the Video/Game/Photo/ and Music icons). Once you are in the Game icon, go to ‘Memory Stick’ and you will see the program ‘USBSSS_100’, click on that. Then the menu will pop up, click on the very first option ‘Virtual FAT16 . UMD ISO-9000’. The PSP will then connect to your computer and a iso file will show up on your computer. Copy that iso file onto your desktop or wherever and let it copy over. On your PSP screen, there will be a % option under ‘last access’ wait for that number to go from 1% to 100% and then back down to 0%. Keep watch on your computer, it may take 15 minutes to copy the iso file from your psp to your computer.

(NOTE: This may take quite a while, do not disconnect prematurely, as your iso file will be incomplete. If your psp stays at 98 or 99% for very long, don’t worry, it stays around there for quite a while. However, if it stays on one of them for longer than 10-12 minutes, disconnect and look on your computer for the file, and then put it on your PSP in the ‘ISO’ folder in the base of your memory stick to make sure it works.)

Step 4:

Once you rip the iso file, you can compress it to make it a much smaller file. The file we are looking to convert it into is a .cso. Open UMDGEN.exe and a window will pop up, there is a blank area on that window where it says “no items to show”. Drag the iso file you just made over to that section and the files will show up on that screen. Once you have the file set up in UMDGen, then click on the option ‘Save’ with the floppy disc icon. 3 options appear to save the file as: .iso file, .cso file, or .dax file. Now, we are looking at .cso file. Click on the .cso option and chose a location to put the file and let UMDGen convert the file into a cso.

Step 5:

Once the file completes converting you can put the .cso file into the ‘ISO’ folder in the base of the Memory stick. Congratulations, you have created a backup iso file of your psp game and converted it to a .cso file to reduce the size of the file.

Troubleshooting:

If you have any problems with this just ask and I will try to fill you in and help you resolve the problem.

If the above links to downloads happen to be down, tell me and I will happily re-upload them for you.

  1. gpSP 9: http://rapidshare.com/files/63942137/gpSP_Folders.rar.html.

Step 1:

Download the above file and connect your psp to computer via USB.

Step 2:

*How to upgrade your 1.50 PSP to 3.40 OE*

Custom search my site and other psp affiliated sites to find what you're looking for.

NOTE: This is a tutorial made for you to upgrade your 1.50 PSP to the custom firmware 3.40 OE made by Dark_AleX. Pay attention closely, there is a small chance your PSP may get bricked. Although it is your decision to go through with this tutorial, so neither am I, Dark_AleX, or this website liable to what might happen to your PSP. On the other hand, if your PSP does brick, then you can fairly easily unbrick it using the Pandora’s Battery/Magic Memory Stick option.

Things You Need:

  1. A 1.50 PSP, if your PSP isn’t 1.50, and is 3.50 or lower, you can downgrade it using the Lumines downgrade. Otherwise, you can downgrade using Pandora’s Battery.
  2. File- 1.50 EBOOT file - http://rapidshare.com/files/64035884/EBOOT_1.50.zip.html
  3. File- 3.40 Official SONY Update – http://rapidshare.com/files/64049891/PSP_340_UPDATE.RAR.html
  4. File- 3.40 OE Update file- http://rapidshare.com/files/64049099/340_oea.rar.html
  5. A PSP battery with more than 75% batter life.

Step 1: (Preparation)

*(optional) It is recommended to back up the files on your Memory Stick and then format your memory stick. The option is available under Settings -> system settings on the XMB. (main PSP menu) Also, remove any UMD from your PSP before beginning this process.

*First, download the 3 above files, but for now, we are going to work with the 3.40 OE folder: ‘340_oea.rar’. Extract this folder to your desktop. Connect your PSP to your computer via USB and enter USB Mode.

*Inside the 3.40 oea folder, there are the following files:

I labeled each of them to express in the tutorial, however, you don’t really even use ‘5’ and ‘6’ in this tutorial, but you can look at them to read about these files.

*Depending on which firmware you are trying to upgrade from, you will need to put the ‘1’ and ‘2’ folders in different places. A 1.50 firmware user would put the two folders in the ‘GAME’ folder on your PSP under MS/PSP/GAME. A 2.XX or 3.XX(a 3.xx custom firmware lower than 3.40) firmware user would put the ‘1’ and ‘2’ folders in the ‘GAME150’ folder under MS/PSP/GAME/GAME150.

*Now we are messing with the 3.40 Official Sony Update folder. Extract it to your desktop. Inside, there is a file called ‘340.PBP’. NOTE: If you downloaded the Sony Official 3.40 Update from somewhere else, inside the folder, the ‘340.PBP’ file may be named ‘EBOOT.PBP’. So you will have to rename it to ‘340.PBP’.

*Now we are messing with the 1.50 EBOOT folder. Extract it to your desktop. Inside, there is a file called ‘1.50 EBOOT.PBP’, so rename it to ‘150.PBP’.

*Once you both have the ‘340.PBP’ and the ‘150.PBP’ files ready, copy/paste them into the ‘2’ folder under MS/PSP/GAME/oeupdmaker if you are at 1.50 firmware. If you are at 2.xx or 3.xx, then you put them into the GAME150/oeupdmaker folder. As shown in my picture.

Step 2: (Beginning Process)

*Now exit out of USB Mode and you are now ready to begin the process. Go to the Game tab and then Memory Stick. Click on the ‘3.40 OE-A Update Maker’, This will create the ‘DATA.DXAR’ file in the ‘2’ folder.

*Enter back into USB Mode once you are redirected to the XMB. Then copy/paste the ‘3’ and ‘4’ folders into the same folder you put the ‘1’ and ‘2’ folders.

*Now open the ‘2’ folder and you will see the ‘DATA.DXAR’ file, cut/paste that file and put it in the ‘4’ folder’. Now exit out of USB Mode.

Step 3: (Upgrading Process)

*You are now ready to Upgrade to 3.40 OE-A. However, make sure your battery is charged over 75% and have your AC Adapter Plugged in.

*Now go to the game tab in the XMB and then click on Memory Stick. the ‘3.40 OE-A Firmware Install’ option should appear. Accept that and follow the directions on-screen. It will tell you to restart the PSP so hold the power button thing up until the green light turns off; make a complete shutdown of the PSP system.

Congratulations, you now have a 3.40 OE-A PSP! You can now play NES, GBA, SNES, N64 and SEGA emulators. You can use your PSP as a universal remote, or watch Youtube Videos directly off your PSP, and play backup iso files on your PSP. 3.40 OE-A has a built in PS1 Emulator, so use my tutorial to make an Eboot file out of your PS1 disc to play it on your PSP.

~How to Convert about ANY file to a different file~

Custom search my site and other psp affiliated sites to find what you're looking for.

NOTE: This is a tutorial to convert any file such as a MPEG-2 into a MPEG-4. Or a flash video (.flv) to a MPEG-4. You can also convert any picture file into a different format. Or you can convert different text files into a different one. I highly recommend the site I will use in this tutorial to convert any file you need to convert.

Things You Will Need:

1. Internet Access
2. This Website URL: http://media-convert.com/

Step 1:

First, just find or get the file you want to convert.

Step 2:

• Go to media-convert.com. There is an option to browse for a url or file to convert. Chose whichever you need to, to find the thing you want to convert.
• Then it asks you to select the ‘INPUT Format’, sometimes it auto-detects and you don’t even need to mess with this, but sometimes you do. Select whichever format you want to convert, such as if you want to convert a Youtube video to something you select Flash Video (.flv) as the input format.
• Now you need to chose an output format, go to whichever format you want, such as if you want to convert that youtube video into PSP format, you select the option ‘PLAYSTATION (PSP) MP4 Video (.mp4).
• Now once you have the options selected, check the box where it says ‘I accept the terms’ and click on ‘OK’.
• Now it might take a while depending on the file size, to convert the file. There you go, you have successfully (hopefully) converted your file into another file.
•

Troubleshooting:

If you have any problems with this just ask and I will try to fill you in and help you resolve the problem. I highly recommend ‘media-convert.com’ it is one of the best file converters on the net.

~Run Cintro from your memory stick (RISK FREE)~

Custom search my site and other psp affiliated sites to find what you're looking for.

I must admit, I did not make this tutorial. This excellent tutorial was made by a moderator on the PSPBrew.com forums, 'staxx'. He has allowed me to use this tutorial on my site. I do not take any credit for this except being the one to copy/paste it to this site =P.

Description
Alright, your probably wondering what Cintro is and what this version does right? Cintro is a program that allows you to play a movie intro when you turn on your psp. In the past people were limited to using an intro of a certain size because it wrote to your flash memory. With this version, you can have an intro as big or as small as you like because it reads from your memory stick instead of your flash memory.

Here’s an example of what a Cintro looks like on your psp…
Click here for the Cintro example
Click here for another Cintro example

Alright, now that you understand what this program is about, lets get started with the process of putting a custom intro onto your psp RISK FREE.

Tools Required
- PSP
- Computer
- USB Cord
- Cintro Mod Download
- Custom Firmware
- PMF (Your movie intro)

Downloads
- Cintro Mod
- (Optional) PMF

Process

Step 1. Download Cintro Mod from HERE.

Step 2. Unzip/Extract the files from your download to your computer.

Step 3. Connect your PSP to your computer.

Step 4. From the files you just unzipped, open up the folder entitled “MS_ROOT” and copy the folder entitled “PSP” onto the root of your PSP’s memory stick. (Just overwrite the one that’s already there)

Step 5. Copy your pmf file (movie) to your “Intro folder” located PSP > System > Intro and rename your pmf to “intro.pmf”.

Step 6. Turn off your PSP completely, then power it back on while holding the “R Trigger” button to enter recovery mode.

Step 7. Navigate to the configuration menu, enable “Autorun program at…” and set your “Game folder hombrew” to “1.50 kernel”. OPTIONAL If you like, you can enable “Skip SCE logo”

Step 8. Exit recovery mode.

If you need a PMF you may use the one provided in the downloads of this tutorial, or you can search for cintro’s on google

Congratulations…Now whenever you turn on your PSP you will see a movie play instead of the standard Sony Computer Entertainment screen. Have fun!

~How to Downgrade any PSP with firmware 3.50 or lower~

Custom search my site and other psp affiliated sites to find what you're looking for.

NOTE: This is a tutorial to downgrade any PSP with a firmware of 3.50 or lower. Pay attention, it is a long tutorial, I will try to make it as easy to understand as I can. ALSO: there is a small chance that your PSP might get bricked from trying to downgrade your PSP. You are going through with this process at your own risk and I am not liable to what might happen. Even if your PSP gets bricked(which will only happen if you do'nt follow the directions carefully enough), there IS a fairly easy way to recover from that, you just need a ‘Pandora’s Battery’ and a ‘Magic Memory Stick’.

Things You Will Need:

  1. Lumines I: Puzzle Fusion. The game. NOTE: Not Lumines II.
  2. File- 3.50 Downgrade file- http://rapidshare.com/files/64035200/350dg.zip.html
  3. File- 1.50 Update file- http://rapidshare.com/files/64048768/163_EBOOT_1.50.zip.html
  4. File- 3.50 Update file (optional)
  5. WinRar- a program to open/extract the files. - http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

Reasons for these Things:

  1. The Lumines I game includes a file in it that has been exploited to work with the downgrade files to downgrade any PSP that has 3.50 firmware.
  2. This downgrade file works with the Lumines I game to create another file used to downgrade a 3.50 PSP.
  3. This file is needed to Update to the 1.50 firmware once it is downgraded by the 3.50 downgrade files.
  4. (optional) This file is needed to update to 3.50 if you aren’t already, because this downgrade process requires your PSP to be at 3.50 firmware.
  5. (optional) Can use WinRar to open/extract the downloaded files.

Step 1: (optional, Upgrade to 3.50)

*If you aren’t already at 3.50 firmware, you need to download the 3.50 Update file.

*In the mean time, connect your PSP to your computer and enter USB mode. Go on your computer and open the ‘removable disk’ drive in the ‘My Computer’ window.

*Once you open that, the window of the base of the memory stick will pop up. From there, click on PSP -> Game -> Update. If you don’t have an ‘Update’ folder in the ‘Game’ folder, then make one.

*Now notice the file once you download it, it is called. ‘13840_EBOOT.PBP’. You will need to rename it to ‘EBOOT.PBP’. Then copy/paste this file to the ‘Update’ folder.

*Now go to your PSP and exit out of USB Mode, then head over to the Game tab and then click on the Memory Stick option. The 3.50 update file will show up, so click on that and update. After it is done, you will then be at 3.50 firmware and then ready for the Downgrading process. Also: you can go back to the ‘Update’ folder and delete the ‘EBOOT.PBP’ file as you are finished using it.

Step 2: (1. Preparation Process)

*Now you need to download the 3.50 Downgrade file, and the 1.50 Update file.

*Once the 3.50 Downgrade file downloads, open it and you will see the ‘PSP’ folder. Extract the folder to your desktop. After it is extracted, a new 3.50 downgrade file will pop up. Open it.

*Once you open it, a new window will pop up including the ‘PSP’ folder. Then, assuming your PSP is still connected to your computer in USB mode, go to the base of the memory stick, and copy/paste the new ‘PSP’ folder over to your PSP’s ‘PSP’ folder. NOTE: an option will pop up to overwrite the folders on your memory stick. So if you have any Lumines Save data files on your psp, you will need to back them up, or they will get deleted.

*After the files finish copying over, open the 1.50 Update folder. The ‘1.50 EBOOT.PBP’ file will be in there. Then extract the file to your desktop. Then open the new file that was just made on your desktop.

*Now go back to your Memory Stick window. From the base of your memory stick, click on PSP -> Game -> UPDATE. NOW, go back to the EBOOT.PBP file in the 1.50 downgrade window. Rename it to ‘UPDATE.PBP’ and cut/paste it to the ‘UPDATE’ folder on your Memory Stick.

*Now exit of out USB Mode Finally! Put in you Lumines I game into your PSP and start it up.

Step 3: (2. Downgrading Process)

*Now, the Lumines game is booting up. Let all the pictures and stuff pop up. Ubisoft and Bandai and all that.

*When the Lumines game finally finishes booting up and the Lumines menu pops up and tells you to press start, press start. Once you do that, the screen goes erratic and turns blue and black. After a little wait, the screen goes back to the PSP menu.

*You can now go to the ‘Settings’ tab and go to ‘System Information’. Now your PSP should be labled as ‘3.50 HEN’.

*Now go back to Game -> Memory Stick. A new application should pop up called ‘PSP Update Ver. X.YZ’ It should be a redd-ish icon. Click on it and now you shall shortly begin to downgrade.

*A screen will pop up and say “Extracting special prx’s from pbp…” Then after that, another screen will pop up and it will ask you to press “X” to begin downgrading. [NOTE: your PSP might speak of needing to be patched, press “X” if you agree. There is still a chance to back out, Press the “R” button and it will cease the downgrading process.

*Your PSP has now begun to Downgrade! After it finished, it asks you to reset your psp by pressing “X”, just follow the directions on-screen. (The screen will have the word “OK” huge on the screen. Congratulations, you have just downgraded your PSP to 1.50.

Have fun with your new awesome PSP!

Troubleshooting:

If you have any problems with this just ask and I will try to fill you in and help you resolve the problem.
If the above links to downloads happen to be down, let me know and I will happily re-upload them for you. Your PSP will ONLY brick if you do not follow the directions. However, if your PSP does indeed brick, you can easily unbrick using the Pandora's Battery method.

~How to make ISO files out of YOUR PS1 games and compress it to a EBOOT file to play on your PSP~

Custom search my site and other psp affiliated sites to find what you're looking for.

NOTE: This tutorial is meant for the purpose of making iso files of your ps1 games in order to play them on your PSP. It is not meant for illegal purposes of distributing the files to others. This program requires the use of a custom firmware, preferably 3.40 OE-A or 3.52 M33. This is a complicated process at first, so pay attention closely.

Files You Will Need:

  1. AutoPopstation4: http://rapidshare.com/files/63831739/AutoPopstation4.zip.html

Step 1:

Download the above file and insert the PS1 disc you want to rip into your computer.

Step 2:

Open the Autopopstation4 file and go from AutoPopstation4/CoreData/ISO Producer.exe. Click on ‘ISO Producer.exe’ and click on the ‘Configure Plugin’ option.

Match your options with mine, however, your drive might vary, but mine is Drive E. (it is the drive that shows up when you have a disk in your cd slot) After you fix your options up, click ‘Make ISO’ and save it in the ‘AutoPopstation4’ folder where the ‘Autopopstation4.bat’ file and the ‘readme.txt’ and ‘Result’ folder’.

Step 3:

Once the ISO is finished, you now need to make an EBOOT of the file.

*Open ‘Autopopstation4.bat’ and type in part of the name of the ISO file you just made, and press enter.

*Then type in the name you want the game to be called, and press enter.

*AutoPopstation will then try to access a database of the different ps1 gamecodes, press ‘y’ and press enter.

*Then type in the name of the game you are ripping, to reduce the amount of results of gamecodes you will get.

*Find the code of the game you have and type it in the area below. [Ex: SCUS76935(just a random number, it will have 4 letters in front of the code and some numbers, you must include the letters). And press enter.

*Then set the compression level to 9 by typing ‘9’ in the space., and press enter.

*Then it gives you the option to use “D” or “G”. Press D and press enter.

*Then it shows you the task that you are about to attempt, then press ‘Y’ to continue with the process and make the Eboot file. Or ‘Q’ to quit. And press Enter.. Congratulations, you just made an Eboot file on a PS1 game to play and enjoy on your PSP!

~How to Compress/Trim your ISO file to make them smaller~

Custom search my site and other psp affiliated sites to find what you're looking for.

NOTE: This tutorial will show you how to make your PSP ISO files smaller by using UMDGen v4 to shrink the file into a cso and also removing files you don’t need in the ISO. Pay attention to see what you CAN delete, because if you delete something wrong, your ISO will become useless, until the file is put back. This tutorial will shrink a 1.16 g ISO file into a 519 MB CSO file. Refer to the bottom of the tutorial for known files/folders not to remove… This tutorial will possibly give you a feel of different folders or files that are unnecessary in your ISO.

Things You Need:
1. A PSP ISO File.
2. UMDGen v4 - http://rapidshare.com/files/64157024/UMDGen_v4.rar.html
3. A Brain.
4. (optional) A GTA: LCS disc, to better follow me in my process of deleting files off the disc.

Step 1: (Preparation)

*Download UMDGen v4 if you don’t already have it. Once it is downloaded, drag your ISO file onto the window, and it will look like this:

*Ok. Here we are with our full ISO file, ready to make it rip files off of it to shrink it as much as possible.

This is a full ISO file at, and it hasn’t been messed with in anyway.

*Actually, you don’t even need half of these files to play the game. Such as the Music files, loading screen pictures, video clips, or different icons, cutscene music. So if you wouldn’t care for any audio, and are possibly playing the game through IR Shell, and listening to music that way, you can delete the whole ‘Audio’ folder.

*It just depends of what files YOU don’t have to have in your ISO.

Step 2: (Useless Stuff)

*First, we will be looking at useless stuff that you simply don’t need in your ISO.

*The first files to get rid of are right at the top. Notice the ‘SYSDIR’ folder, open it up. Inside it has this:
*The ‘UPDATE’ folder is useless, it holds the files that you use to update your PSP to the firmware needed to play the UMD. You can’t even access it through the ISO file so it’s useless. Delete the ‘UPDATE’ folder.

*The next file is the ‘EBOOT.BIN’ file, DON’T MESS WITH THIS FILE. You need it, don’t mess with it.

*The next file is the ‘BOOT.BIN’ file, you don’t need this, I am not too sure what it does, but I’ve played games without it, no problems.

*After that, your ISO has already shrinked from 1.16 g to 810 MB! That’s about 396 MB taken off. And it is still in ISO format!

*Next we are looking at the ‘ANIM’ folder. I do not need this folder, it includes the CUTS.DIR and CUTS.IMG files. These make you able to start a new game with the iso/cso file. I do not need this, however, because i already have savedata of the game and i have no plan on starting a new game. But it is a pretty nice file to delete, i think about 35 MB or so.

*Next the ‘LUASCRIPTS’ folder, I think it is used for hacking online and stuff, but it doesn’t affect your gameplay, other than hacking I guess. With doing that, the ISO file is this big:

*Next is the ‘TEXT’ folder. Depending on whatever language you want, you can delete all the other language .GXT files.

*Next is the ‘TXD’ folder. You can delete that. Your loading screens and stuff might look a little weird at times, but its because the files that make pictures appear and stuff are deleted. So I guess this can be an optional file to delete.

*Once you have all that deleted (including the ‘TXD’ folder), Your ISO file shall now be 744 MB. From a 1.6 g ISO file to a 744 MB ISO file. This cut off about 464 MB from the ISO file.

*Oh yeah, you can delete the ‘ICON1.PMF’ All it does is show clips from the game while you look at the file under the game tab in the memory stick. You can delete it by clicking on the ‘PSP_GAME’ folder, and it will pop up in the window.

*But wait! We still aren’t through, you can look at Step 3 to remove stuff you might want or might not. Move on to Step 4 to convert your ISO file into a CSO file.

Step 3: (Stuff You Might Want)

*The ‘AUDIO’ folder contains different files that represent different parts of the game that have audio. Such as ‘CUTSCENE’ or ‘MUSIC’ if you don’t want audio during the cutscenes or you don’t want to listen to the music off the game.

Step 4: (ISO to CSO Format)

*Now that you have ripped off everything you don’t want and don’t need on your ISO file, it is now to convert the file into .cso format. So what you do now is look at the picture: and go to save and save as .cso. Then name the file to whatever you want. Once you do that, all you have to do is wait for the file to save and convert to .cso. And my GTA LCS .cso file turned out like this:

*So Before and After of this process:

Things Not to Delete:

*The ‘DATA’ folder.

*The ‘MODELS’ folder.

*The ‘PSPHR’ folder with the file: GAME.DTZ.

*The ‘MOVIE’ folder.

*You can delete the 'ANIM' folder with the CUTS.DIR and CUTS.IMG , but it will prevent you from loading the game without a previous savedata file of the game, or start a new game when already in a loaded game. But you can start another LOAD game.

~How to turn your PSP into a Universal Remote~

Custom search my site and other psp affiliated sites to find what you're looking for.

NOTE: This tutorial allows your PSP to control devices using IR (Infrared waves). This program requires a Custom Firmware in order to use it.

Files You Will Need:

  1. The main file to run iR Shell(iR Shell 3.7): http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1EBJ0PDI
  2. The file that includes 2000 pronto codes that hold the files to control more devices: http://rapidshare.com/files/63811538/prontocodes13.zip

Step 1:

Download the 2 files above.

Step 2:

Once the files are downloaded, turn on your PSP and connect it to your computer via USB. Open the main iR Shell file you just downloaded and you will see the following files:

Move the ‘seplugins’, ‘IRSHELL’, and ‘PSP’ directly to the base of the PSP memory stick and let all the files copy over. Then open the pronto codes file and copy the ‘IRCODES’ file to your memory stick in the following folder: go from the base of your memory stick (MS) MS/ IRSHELL. The ircodes that you are now pasting to the ‘IRSHELL’ folder will merge with the previous codes.

Step 3:

That ends the installation procedure of iR Shell 3.7 and the 2000 pronto codes. Now exit out of USB mode and go to the game icon on the xmb (main menu of psp that includes the Video/Game/Music/Photo/Network/ and Settings icons).

Once you are under the Game icon, click on ‘Memory Stick’ There should be 2 IR Shell applications under game, open whichever one you want and let it start up. Once you are in the main menu of IR Shell, go to the top right area of it where it says ‘iR Remote View’ and once you click on that, 3 options appear: ‘Codes’, ‘Discrete Codes’, and ‘User Supplied Codes’. Search through all these codes for the device you want to control and click on it.

Once you click on it, a list of commands will pop up on the PSP’s screen that tell you what each button does. Now you are ready to control a device, point the top part of the PSP towards the device you want to control and press any button to control it. Congratulations you have installed iR Shell 3.7 and have used the iR Remote program.
